Yesterday Coco went to see Dr Potts for a check up and also to get spayed. She came through surgery with no problems and had a very quiet evening recovering at home.

She is feeling better this morning but is still very quiet.

Last week was the first anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. It is estimated that over 235,000 animals were killed during the Gulf Coast Hurricanes in 2005. It is also unknown how many people died as result of not evacuating or reentering unsafe areas for their pets and livestock

The California Assembly has approved legislation(AB 450) introduced by Speaker Pro Tem Leland Yee (D-San Francisco/Daly City) requiring the Department of Agriculture, the Office of Emergency Services and other agencies involved in disaster preparedness to develop a memorandum of understanding (MOU) or plan that includes the needs of service animals, livestock, equines and individuals with household pets following a major disaster or emergency. I know I'm not going anywhere without Coco and she's not going anywhere without Mr Lobster!

Dinner anyone?
